PatternViewer vs. Verity
Reviewed by Jacob Reed, founder of Verity ·
Short answer
PatternViewer is a done-for-you service: you hand over texts, emails and voicemails, and its team tags them and builds reports and timelines with you. Verity is software you run yourself. It reads an exported conversation in your browser and reports the patterns in minutes, for a published one-time price, and the messages are not uploaded.
Both turn a long history of messages into something a person can review. They go about it in opposite ways: one is a service with people doing the work, the other is a tool you run on your own device. This comparison is based on PatternViewer's public website as it read on October 11, 2026.
1.What it is
PatternViewer
A done-for-you service from a company called Factimize. Per its own site, you provide your communications and its team organizes them into 24-hour segments, indexes them, tags the relevant language and incidents, and then builds summary reports, interactive timelines and infographics with you.
Verity
Software you run yourself. You upload a conversation you exported from your phone or an app, and get a free health score in minutes, then a report of the patterns in it with the flagged messages quoted and dated.
2.Who does the analysis
PatternViewer
People. Its site describes experts tagging relevant language and incidents, and a team that builds customized reports together with the client.
Verity
The software, automatically. The same file gives the same result every time, and the method is published on the methodology page. No one at Verity reads your conversation.
3.What happens to your messages
PatternViewer
You hand them to the company. Its published retention policy says customer data is stored in the PatternViewer application and kept for one year from final delivery, with earlier deletion available on written request.
Verity
They stay on your device. The file is read and analyzed in your browser, and the text of your messages is not uploaded to a server.
4.Price and how you start
PatternViewer
No prices are published. Its site describes "tiered service levels" and offers a free 30-minute consultation as the first step.
Verity
A free health score with no account. The full report is a one-time $99 (Standard) or $149 (Forensic). Attorneys can use the separate Pro portal at $299 a month.
5.What it accepts
PatternViewer
Per its site, communications "in any format from any platform." It names texts, emails and voicemails.
Verity
Exports from WhatsApp, iPhone texts (chat.db), Android text backups, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Telegram, Google Messages, Discord, Snapchat, GroupMe, Gmail, CSV files, and the PDF records from OurFamilyWizard and TalkingParents. Screenshots can be read for the Standard report. It does not take voicemail or other audio.
6.What you get back
PatternViewer
Summary reports, interactive timelines and infographics, customized with the client. For mental health professionals it describes an analysis "aligned to diagnostic criteria" that "does not provide any diagnosis."
Verity
A PDF report: a health score, the patterns found, and the flagged messages quoted with their dates. The Forensic report adds research citations and a methodology appendix. Both paid reports come with a second PDF listing every message, numbered in date order. It is not a custom-built timeline.
7.What each says about court
PatternViewer
Its site says its reports "have served as essential and powerful evidence in family court proceedings and mediations."
Verity
Verity describes its reports as supporting documentation, not expert testimony and not a diagnosis. Whether any record is admitted, and what it needs to be authenticated, is for the court and your attorney.
When does a service like PatternViewer make sense?
When you want a person to do the work. If your record is spread across texts, emails and voicemails, if you would rather talk it through with someone than run a tool, and if you have the time for a consultation and a delivery, a service is built for that. A human analyst can also follow threads that software will not, such as a voicemail that explains a text sent an hour later.
When does Verity make sense?
When you want an answer today, at a price you can see before you start, without sending your messages to anyone. A parent with a hearing next week can export one conversation, see the free health score in minutes, and decide whether the full report is worth buying. Nothing has to be handed over, which matters to people who are careful about where a record of their private life ends up.
Can you use both?
Yes. They are not exclusive. Some people will run a conversation through Verity first to see whether there is a pattern worth documenting, then decide whether a fuller, hand-built presentation is worth paying for. If you have not exported the conversation yet, our export steps for each app are the place to start, whichever route you take.
This is general information, not legal advice, and Verity is not a law firm. Details of a third-party service like PatternViewer can change after this was written, and its prices are not published, so confirm current details directly with them before relying on anything here. What your court or case requires is specific to your jurisdiction and your case; talk to an attorney about your situation.
