red-flag AI: Chat Analysis vs. Verity
Reviewed by Jacob Reed, founder of Verity ·

Short answer
red-flag AI is an Android app for reading a dating or relationship chat: red flags, interest levels, attachment styles and personality traits, paid in tokens or by watching ads. Verity reads a whole exported conversation in your browser, keeps every date, and gives you a numbered record for a lawyer, for one-time prices. One helps you size up a match. The other documents a conflict.
The two overlap on words like gaslighting, but they are aimed at different moments: early dating on one side, a separation, custody dispute or protective order on the other.
1.What each one is built to do
red-flag AI
Help you read a relationship. Its listing offers red flags such as gaslighting and love bombing, interest levels, attachment styles, personality traits and tips for healthier texting, with dating as the main use.
Verity
Organize a whole conversation as a record. It looks for warning patterns such as gaslighting, DARVO, threats and coercive control, and healthy ones such as accountability, listing each flagged message with its date. It does not label anyone’s personality.
2.How you give it your messages
red-flag AI
Its listing says you can upload text messages, screenshots and chat logs from any platform, and that it can analyze thousands of messages for patterns. In version 1.3, which we opened, you pasted one message at a time or added a photo, and an “Auto-upload” option asked to read the phone’s own texts.
Verity
Upload the app’s own export: WhatsApp, iMessage, Android backups, Messenger, Instagram, Telegram, Gmail, OurFamilyWizard and TalkingParents PDFs and more. Or pick screenshots. It never asks for access to your phone’s messages.
3.Where your messages go
red-flag AI
Its listing describes AI-powered analysis. Read its privacy policy for where your messages are processed and kept before you share someone else’s words.
Verity
The file is read and analyzed in your browser. The messages are not uploaded, including when you buy. You can check this by turning off the internet once the page has loaded.
4.Price
red-flag AI
Tokens, as shown in the app on October 25, 2026: $1.99 for 100, $4.99 for 300, $9.99 for 750 or $24.99 for 2,000, or watch an ad for free tokens.
Verity
Free preview and free text check. One-time: $19 numbered message list, $99 Standard report, $149 Detailed report. No subscription, tokens or ads. On Android, Verity Lite shows the results on screen for a one-time $19.99.
5.What you get back
red-flag AI
On-screen insights into the conversation and the people in it.
Verity
A free on-screen preview with a 0–100 health score, the patterns found and one flagged message in full. Paid PDFs: a numbered list of every message in date order, and reports quoting each flagged message with its date and the messages around it.
What happened when we tried it
On October 25, 2026 we installed red-flag AI 1.3 on a Pixel phone to run it on the same fictional chat we gave the other apps. It started with no tokens, and the ad that grants free tokens did not load on either try, so we could not run an analysis without buying tokens, which we did not do. We did not use “Auto-upload”, since it reads the phone's own messages.
We can't say how well it reads a conversation. What we can say: personality traits and attachment styles are not what a family court weighs, and a judge will ask for the messages themselves with their dates. If your messages are headed to a lawyer, keep the full export and work from that.
Which one fits your situation?
Use red-flag AI if you are dating and want a second opinion on how someone texts. Use Verity when you need a whole history organized with dates for a lawyer or a hearing, or you would rather the messages stay on your own device. For the six apps we tried side by side, see red-flag scanner apps, tested on the same chat.
This is general information, not legal advice, and Verity is not a law firm. We make Verity. red-flag AI's features and prices are as its Google Play listing (updated February 22, 2025) and the app itself showed them on October 25, 2026, and can change; check the listing before relying on them.
