TalkingParents Accountable Calling: How to Actually Get Your Recordings and Transcripts
Every phone or video call placed through TalkingParents' Accountable Calling feature is recorded and transcribed, with both parents' numbers kept private. That's a genuinely different kind of record than a text thread — audio and video of what was actually said, not a written account of it afterward. Here's how the feature actually works, and how to get the recording out for use as an exhibit.
Current plans and calling minutes
As of this writing, TalkingParents has three paid tiers. Essentials ($7/month) includes 30 minutes of Accountable Calling per month. Enhanced ($16/month) includes 60 minutes and adds unlimited PDF records. Ultimate ($32/month) includes unlimited calling minutes, along with a sentiment/tone-check tool, faster payment transfers, and one free printed records package per year. Additional calling minutes can be purchased on any plan if you go over. Both parents have to opt in
Accountable Calling isn't automatic. Both parents must agree to TalkingParents' Calling Consent and have Recorded Calling enabled before either one can place or receive a call through the feature. That mutual consent is part of what makes the resulting recording usable — both sides agreed to have the call recorded going in.
Getting a single call's recording or transcript
On the app or website: sign in, go to the Calling section of your account, and select the specific call to open its Call details, where the transcript is viewable directly. To get the recording or transcript out of the app, tap the three-dot menu in the upper right corner of that screen — it gives you the option to email the record or download the individual call recording (the app version also offers a “create message” option to send it within TalkingParents itself).
Getting everything at once: Unalterable Records
If you want your calling history bundled with the rest of your TalkingParents record rather than pulled one call at a time, use the Unalterable Records export (found under “More” in the app, or the main menu on the website). When building a Printed or PDF Record, scroll to the Accountable Calling section and select the option to include calling transcripts before generating the export — this bundles the transcripts in with your messages, calendar, and other records rather than requiring a separate download per call. This feature is available on any paid plan; a free account isn't enough to access calling transcripts and recordings.
A different kind of record than a text thread
Everything else on this site is about analyzing written conversation — texts, messages, chat exports. Accountable Calling is a different category of evidence entirely: audio and video of an actual conversation, with both parties' consent baked in from the start. Verity doesn't ingest or analyze call recordings — its analysis engine works on text conversation exports. This post is purely informational about a feature Verity doesn't touch, included because a growing number of families managing co-parenting communication are on TalkingParents and may not know exactly how to get their own recordings out when they need them.
