Is There an App to Analyze OurFamilyWizard or TalkingParents Messages?
Reviewed by Jacob Reed, founder of Verity ·

Short answer
Yes. Both apps let you download the conversation as a PDF: OurFamilyWizard's message report (on the website, under Messages) and TalkingParents' Complete Message Record (under Unalterable Records). Verity reads either PDF in your browser without uploading it. It flags patterns such as threats, gaslighting and blame-shifting across the whole record, shows when messages were read where the PDF records it, and can number every message in date order for your lawyer. Keep the PDF exactly as it came.
Co-parenting apps keep a record that is hard to dispute. Reading months of it to find what matters is the slow part, and that is where a pattern check helps.
Step 1: download the PDF
- OurFamilyWizard: sign in at ourfamilywizard.com in a browser (the report is not in the phone app), open Messages, choose the All Messages folder and click the Report icon. Pick the options and download the PDF. Steps and which options to tick: how to download an OurFamilyWizard message report.
- TalkingParents: open Unalterable Records, then PDF Records, and request the Secure Messaging record. It arrives by email as a link with an access code. It is free on the Enhanced and Ultimate plans, and the record is built only after you have opened every new message. Details: how to download a TalkingParents message record.
Save the PDF unchanged and keep a copy off your phone. It is the version a court can check against the app's own records.
Step 2: read it for patterns
Drop the PDF into Verity on a phone or a computer. It recognises which app made it, marks you as the parent who requested the record, and reads every message with its date and time. Then it:
- Flags patterns across the whole record, such as threats, gaslighting, blame-shifting, contempt, demands for replies and floods of messages, and shows each flagged message with the ones around it.
- Shows who starts and who replies, and how long replies take, month by month.
- Keeps the read times where the PDF records them, such as TalkingParents' “viewed” lines, so the numbered list can show when a message was opened.
- Numbers every message in date order, so you and your lawyer can point to “message 482” instead of a page and a guess.
If a PDF doesn't open, the screen says why and offers a help form: you send the error code, never the messages. The TalkingParents reader was built from real records; OurFamilyWizard's report header was checked against its own sample, but few real reports have been through it yet, so tell us if yours reads wrongly.
What to check before you upload the PDF anywhere
- Where it goes and how long it stays. The record holds the other parent's words and your children's details. Read the tool's privacy page, or use one that reads the file on your own device; you can test that by turning the internet off after the page loads (how).
- Whether dates and senders survive, so anything the tool shows can be found again in the original PDF.
- Your safety. If the other parent can see your phone or computer, use a private window and delete the downloaded PDF from your downloads when you are done.
What a pattern check can't do
It reads words and timing. It can flag an ordinary message, miss cruelty that is politely worded, and it can't say what anyone meant or whether a court will rely on it. It also reads only what is in the PDF: calls, calendar entries and journal notes are separate records in both apps. Our methodology page sets out what Verity measured and where it falls short.
Where does Verity fit?
The free preview shows the patterns found and one flagged message in full, and lets you read every message on screen, numbered in date order. Paid options are one-time: every message numbered in date order ($19), or a report quoting the flagged messages with their dates, grouped by pattern ($99 Standard, $149 Detailed). For texts and other chats, see the guides for iPhone texts, Android texts and WhatsApp.
