How Long Does Life360 Keep Location History?

Short answer

It depends on the membership. Life360's help page says location and drive history is kept for 2 days on Free, 7 days on Silver and 30 days on Gold or Platinum. It can't be printed or exported from the app, and Life360 itself recommends taking screenshots of anything you want to keep. History belongs to the account, not the Circle, and can't be deleted except by deleting the whole account. If a location or a drive matters to your case, screenshot it before it rolls off.

Many separated parents still share a Life360 Circle for the children. The history is short, so act early.

What Life360's own page says

  • Location and drive history: Free 2 days, Silver 7 days, Gold and Platinum 30 days.
  • History belongs to the account, not a Circle: if someone joins a new Circle, its members may be able to see their history from that window, even from time spent in another Circle.
  • There is no way to delete history or driving events, other than deleting the whole account.
  • History can't be printed or exported from the app; Life360 recommends screenshots.

Saving it properly

  • Screenshot the member's history the day it matters: open the member, then the event, so the place and time show.
  • Note the date you took each screenshot; history rolls off by the day.
  • Keep the texts from the same day too: they often say why someone was somewhere.

Location and the other parent

Sharing location with an ex can stop being comfortable after a separation; see stopping location sharing after a separation. The children's own location sharing is a parenting question your order may cover. Messages that keep asking where you are are covered in monitoring texts.

Putting it next to the messages

Verity reads your text export in your browser, without uploading it, and numbers every message in date order with its time, so a screenshot of a drive can be matched to the messages sent that evening. It doesn't read Life360 data.

Match the times to the messages

Drop in your export and read every message numbered in date order. It is read in your browser and is not uploaded.
